Job Description:

• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 15:30pm to 18:00pm (2.5 hours per day)
• Contract: Term-time only (38 weeks per year)
• Contract End Date: 31st August 2027

Your new school

Hays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and community-focused primary school in Solihull, B93. The school is known for its nurturing environment, strong values and commitment to providing children with a safe, engaging and inclusive experience both during and beyond the school day. The school is seeking a dedicated Afterschool Play Practitioner to join its wraparound care provision and support pupils in a fun and stimulating after-school setting.

Your new role

• To promote child-initiated play and learning
• To ensure the facility is ready for use (including the setting-up and clearing away of resources)
• To establish and maintain positive relationships with children and their families in a way that values parental involvement
• To safeguard children and adhere to and promote health & safety
• To adhere to and promote all school policies

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare, or similar setting.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, colleagues and parents/carers.
• A patient, caring and enthusiastic approach.
• Understanding of child development through play and learning.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good organisational skills.
• Basic First Aid knowledge (First Aid qualification desirable).
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
