ASD Specialist Primary & Secondary School

Location: Dudley, West Midlands
Job Type: Full-time / Part-time
Start Date: 12.10.2026 (maybe sooner)

We are seeking a caring, experienced and dedicated ASD Specialist to join our school team in Dudley, supporting pupils across both primary and secondary phases.

The successful candidate will have experience working with children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and a strong understanding of their individual learning, communication, sensory and emotional needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialist support to pupils with ASD across primary and secondary settings.
• Develop and implement individualised strategies to support learning, communication and independence.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, support staff, parents/carers and external professionals.
• Support pupils with sensory, emotional and behavioural regulation.
• Adapt learning activities and classroom environments to meet individual needs.
• Promote positive relationships, confidence and independence.
• Monitor pupil progress and contribute to appropriate support plans.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience supporting children or young people with ASD.
Has a good understanding of SEND and autism-specific strategies.
Is patient, empathetic and adaptable.
Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
Is committed to helping every pupil achieve their potential.

Relevant qualifications and experience in autism, SEND, education or specialist support are desirable.
