Business Development Manager
 
Location: Hybrid - Midlands once a week
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + commission
 
The Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a growing team within the renewable energy and energy flexibility sector.

This is a commercially focused role, responsible for developing new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships and identifying routes to market for innovative energy solutions that help businesses optimise electricity usage and support the transition to Net Zero.

You will work closely with customers, strategic partners, Third Party Intermediaries (TPIs) and internal teams to develop opportunities, understand customer requirements and bring new propositions to market.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic partners, TPIs and key stakeholders at all levels.
• Identify and develop new channel partners and networks in line with the company's route-to-market strategy.
• Generate and manage new business opportunities, from initial engagement through to commercial development.
• Work closely with external partners to ensure they understand the company's products, services and evolving propositions.
• Understand customer requirements and the key commercial factors influencing decision makers.
• Support tender submissions and opportunity management, particularly across new and developing areas of the business.
• Work with commercial and optimisation teams to develop pricing models and customer propositions around flexible demand.
• Contribute to the development of new products, services and market propositions within a rapidly evolving sector.
• Attend industry events to develop market knowledge, build relationships and identify new commercial opportunities.

About You:
We're looking for an experienced commercial professional with a strong background in business development, within the energy, renewable energy, flexibility, generation, storage or related markets.

You will bring:

• Knowledge of renewable generation and flexible demand markets, including relevant contract structures and revenue streams.
• Understanding of generation and/or energy storage assets and their operation.
• Knowledge of products and services offered by energy suppliers, aggregators and TPIs.
• A proven track record of building and maintaining effective commercial relationships.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.
• Confidence collaborating across multiple teams and external organisations.
