Hours: Monday–Thursday, 6:00am–6:00pm
Hours per week: 48 hours
Pay: £14.00 per hour, depending on experience

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Crosshead Extrusion Setter to join an established manufacturing team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong extrusion experience, particularly within co-extrusion, wire coating or hose/pipe extrusion.

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating and monitoring extrusion production lines, ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

The Experience We’re Looking For

Previous experience as an Extrusion Setter is essential. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in:

• Crosshead extrusion
• Co-extrusion
• Coating wires
• Hose or pipe extrusion
• Setting up and packing production lines
• Working with materials such as:
  • PVC
  • Polyurethane
  • Megalon
  • Nylon

Candidates should have a strong hands-on and mechanical approach, with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and make adjustments to maintain production and quality.

Please note: Blown film extrusion experience will not be suitable for this role or our other extrusion positions.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate crosshead extrusion machinery.
• Set and prepare production lines ready for manufacture.
• Carry out line changes, tooling changes and adjustments as required.
• Operate and monitor co-extrusion processes.
• Work with different materials, including PVC, Polyurethane, Megalon and Nylon.
• Monitor production output and product quality.
• Identify and resolve production and machinery issues.
• Make adjustments to ensure products meet required specifications.
• Complete line set-up and packing requirements.
• Minimise scrap and non-conforming products.
• Carry out routine checks and basic maintenance.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

Has previous experience as an Extrusion Setter.

Has hands-on experience with crosshead or co-extrusion.

Ideally has experience with wire coating or hose/pipe extrusion.

Has experience setting up and packing production lines.

Has good mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills.

Can work confidently with extrusion machinery, tooling and controls.

Has experience working with PVC, Polyurethane, Megalon and/or Nylon.

Has a strong focus on quality and safety.

Can work independently and as part of a team.

Is looking for a stable, long-term position.
