Electrical Project Manager

Location: Wolverhampton

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Project Manager to join our growing team, delivering electrical construction projects across commercial, industrial, rail and other specialist infrastructure environments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, efficient and profitable delivery of multiple projects from award through to completion. Working closely with clients, site teams, suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders, the Project Manager will provide leadership throughout the project lifecycle whilst ensuring high standards of quality, safety and customer satisfaction are maintained.

This role would suit an ambitious individual who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and building strong relationships whilst delivering successful project outcomes.

Project Delivery & Management

• Manage electrical projects
• Coordinate labour, materials, subcontractors and specialist suppliers
• Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project programmes
• Monitor project performance against programme, budget and contractual requirements
• Chair and attend project review meetings
• Support site teams in overcoming technical and operational challenges

Commercial & Contractual Management

• Work with the commercial team to maximise project profitability
• Identify and implement efficiency and better buying strategies
• Identify, manage and submit variations, compensation events and change requests
• Raise and manage RFIs, TQs and technical clarifications
• Support monthly cost reporting, forecasting and project reviews
• Assist with preparation of applications for payment and commercial valuations

Procurement & Resource Management

• Undertake material take-offs and support procurement activities
• Identify long lead items and implement procurement strategies to mitigate programme risks
• Monitor material deliveries and subcontractor performance
• Ensure project resources are managed effectively to support programme requirements

Programme & Planning

• Support the development, maintenance and monitoring of project programmes
• Identify potential risks, delays and opportunities
• Produce weekly progress reports and support with programme updates for internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure project teams remain aligned with key milestones and deliverables
• Implement recovery plans where necessary to maintain programme performance

Health, Safety & Quality

• Promote a positive safety culture across all projects
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, client requirements and statutory regulations
• Wite, submit and maintain Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
• Monitor quality standards and support project inspections and audits
• Ensure project documentation is maintained accurately and in compliance with company systems

Project Close-Out & Handover

• Ensure works are commissioned, tested and handed over
• Support the completion of O&M Manuals
• Ensure all as-built information and certification is compiled and submitted
• Facilitate effective project close-out and lessons learned reviews

Essential

• Previous experience as an Electrical Project Manager within the construction industry
• Strong technical understanding of electrical building services/installations
• Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and site-based delivery teams
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and technical documentation
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office

Desirable

• Rail project experience
• Experience working within live operational environments
• ECS card
• SMSTS
• Knowledge of NEC contract forms
• Experience with project management and document control systems
