Job Description:

Newark Recruitment is currently recruiting Healthcare Assistants on behalf of a care provider supporting adults with a range of care and support needs.

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will work as part of the care team to provide high-quality care and support, promoting the dignity, independence, wellbeing and safety of the individuals in your care.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing person-centred care and support to residents
• Assisting with personal care, washing, dressing and personal hygiene
• Supporting residents with mobility and daily living activities
• Supporting with meals, hydration and nutrition
• Assisting with medication where required and in line with training and service procedures
• Supporting residents with social and recreational activities
• Encouraging independence and maintaining dignity at all times
• Supporting residents to attend appointments where required
• Communicating effectively with residents, colleagues and other professionals
• Maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable environment
• Following individual care plans, risk assessments and relevant policies and procedures
• Reporting any changes in residents' health, behaviour or wellbeing to the appropriate senior staff
• Working effectively as part of a wider care team

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience in healthcare, care or support work is desirable
• Experience supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Mental Health or other complex needs is desirable
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• A caring, patient and professional approach
• Ability to work flexibly according to service requirements
• Reliable and committed approach to work
• Willingness to learn and complete required training

Training and Development

Full training and relevant role-specific training will be provided to successful candidates. Candidates must be willing to complete all mandatory training and follow the required care and safeguarding procedures.

Additional Information

• Day and night shifts may be available depending on the service
• Previous care or support experience is desirable
• Full training will be provided
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
