Financial Controller – Manufacturing
Location: Bilston, West Midlands
Salary: £60,000–£70,000 per annum
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am–5.00pm
Location: On-site

MET Professional is working with an established and growing manufacturing business in the West Midlands to recruit an experienced Financial Controller.

This is a newly created position, offering the opportunity to take ownership of the finance function, work closely with senior leadership and play a key role in the future development of the business.

As Financial Controller, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the finance function, providing accurate financial information, commercial insight and support to the senior management team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Managing month-end processes and ensuring accurate, timely financial information.
• Monitoring cash flow, budgets and financial performance.
• Overseeing stock and inventory accounting, standard costing and product costing.
• Analysing margins, identifying trends and providing commercial insight to support business decisions.
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Leading and developing the finance team.
• Working closely with operational teams to understand business performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Supporting the senior leadership team with financial analysis and strategic decision-making.
• Developing financial processes, controls and reporting to support the continued growth of the business.

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with commercial awareness and a hands-on approach.

Essential requirements:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or FCCA).
• Previous experience in a senior finance or Financial Controller position within a manufacturing or industrial SME.
• Strong management accounting and commercial finance experience.
• A thorough understanding of stock, inventory, standard costing, product costing and margin analysis.
• Experience managing budgets, cash flow and month-end reporting.
• Previous experience leading and developing a finance team.
• Strong Excel skills and the ability to interpret and communicate financial information.
• A proactive, commercially minded approach with the ability to work closely with operational and senior management teams.
