Nova Stars Group is a rapidly growing healthcare group supporting people with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Mental Health conditions through specialist residential, supported living and transitional services.

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Group Finance Manager to take ownership of our day-to-day finance function across multiple companies and services.

Working closely with the CEO, Directors and Senior Leadership Team, you will strengthen our financial controls, improve processes and provide the insight needed to support sustainable growth and high-quality care.

The Role

You will be responsible for producing accurate monthly management accounts across multiple companies, services and cost centres, while providing Directors with a clear consolidated view of the Group’s financial position.

A key part of the role will be developing and managing multiple budgets, monitoring expenditure, identifying variances and working with service managers to improve financial performance. You will oversee cash-flow forecasting, bank accounts, reconciliations, purchase and sales ledgers and credit control.

You will also manage invoicing for local authorities, NHS organisations and other commissioning bodies, ensuring invoices are accurate, submitted promptly and paid within agreed timescales. This will include resolving disputed and overdue payments and identifying any emerging cash-flow risks.

The role will oversee payroll across multiple companies, including salaries, hourly pay, overtime, enhancements, deductions, pensions and statutory payments. You will ensure payroll is accurate, approved and completed on time.

You will coordinate year-end accounts, external audits, VAT returns and statutory reporting. You must have a strong understanding of Companies House requirements and be confident managing statutory submissions, financial compliance and key deadlines across multiple legal entities.

As the Group continues to grow, you will support acquisitions, new service mobilisation and wider business development. You will also identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve value for money, introduce automation and strengthen financial systems without compromising the quality or safety of care.

About You

You must have previous finance experience within the health and/or social care sector, ideally within a multi-site or growing organisation.

You will have experience working as a Finance Manager, Management Accountant, Group Finance Manager or Senior Finance Officer, with responsibility for managing finance across multiple companies, services or cost centres.

You must be confident producing management accounts, developing and monitoring multiple budgets, managing cash flow and meeting Companies House and other statutory deadlines.

You will hold an ACA, ACCA, CIMA or AAT Level 4 qualification and have strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, payroll, credit control, audit requirements and VAT.

Excellent Excel and analytical skills are essential, alongside experience using cloud-based accounting systems. Xero experience would be desirable.

We are looking for someone organised, proactive and commercially focused who can manage competing priorities, communicate confidently with senior stakeholders and constructively challenge financial performance.

Systems

You will work with Xero, BrightHR and Blip, with training provided where required.
