Job Description:

Nelson Recruitment Services are seeking a proactive and versatile General Maintenance person to work at a group of settings in Birmingham.

Location: Across Oldbury, Great Barr, Edgbaston , Aldridge (all sites within a 10 mile radius from eachother)

Hours: Monday-Friday 07:00-16:00

Occasional weekends required

Salary: 29k-30k salary

Duties

• General maintenance and repairs - repairing furniture, doors, door handles, locks, window frames etc
• Fixing basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues promptly to minimize downtime
• Fixing taps, unblocking toilets, changing light bulbs, painting/decorating
• Conducting routine health and safety checks
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance work, inspections, repairs, and parts inventory
• Lead safety initiatives and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all maintenance operations

Qualifications

• Proven experience in maintenance roles with strong mechanical knowledge and electrical experience.
• Skilled in reading schematics and working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
• Demonstrated welding ability and familiarity with various welding techniques.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, troubleshooting methods, and safety protocols.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a maintenance environment.
• Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and team coordination.
• Customer service mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors
