Job Description:

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a secondary SEND school based in Selly Oak. The school supports pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties / MLD, Severe Learning Difficulties / SLD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs, providing an environment where pupils can develop their practical skills and confidence.

The school is looking to appoint a Horticulture Teacher on a full-time, 6-month placement starting on 9th October. The successful Horticulture Teacher will deliver engaging horticulture lessons to secondary-aged pupils, adapting teaching to meet individual needs, with the school keen to interview and meet candidates to find the right person for the role.

The successful Horticulture Teacher will have:

• Relevant teaching qualification or demonstrable experience teaching horticulture
• Experience within horticulture and practical horticultural activities
• Previous experience working within a SEND setting
• Experience supporting pupils with MLD, SLD and/or SEMH needs
• Ability to adapt lessons to meet a range of individual learning needs
• A patient, resilient and engaging approach to teaching
