HR Advisor | Birmingham City Centre with regular travel | 9 months FTC | £41K (Including car allowance) | Immediate Start

Are you an experienced HR Advisor looking for a role where you can really get stuck into Employee Relations and make a difference? Gleeson Recruitment Group are working with a well-established organisation to recruit an experienced HR Advisor to join their HR team in Birmingham. This is a hands-on, ER-focused role where you'll work closely with Line Managers, providing pragmatic advice and guidance across a broad range of HR and employment law matters.

The Role

Reporting into a Senior HR Business Partner, you'll provide professional HR support across the business, with a particular focus on Employee Relations and Employment Law.

You'll be responsible for:

• Advising Line Managers on a range of ER matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability and performance management.
• Supporting managers through investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes and appeal hearings.
• Providing advice and guidance on company policies and employment legislation.
• Managing and advising on sickness absence, including occupational health referrals, home visits and return-to-work processes.
• Supporting managers with probationary reviews and wider employee lifecycle matters.
• Preparing and delivering HR training around areas such as absence management, investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, flexible working and performance management.
• Liaising with ACAS and external employment law specialists where required.
• Supporting the preparation of documentation for Employment Tribunal matters.
• Getting involved in wider HR projects, including restructures and TUPE.
• Working closely with HR Coordinators and HR Business Partners to ensure cases and correspondence are managed within agreed timescales.

About You

We're looking for an HR professional who is confident operating in a busy, operational environment and isn't afraid to challenge, influence and provide pragmatic advice to managers.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience working as an HR Advisor.
• Strong Employee Relations and employment law knowledge.
• CIPD graduate-level qualification or equivalent.
• Experience working within a unionised environment and/or with Staff Forums.
• A strong understanding of HR policies, processes and employment legislation.
• Experience supporting Line Managers through complex ER cases.
• Excellent organisation and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
• A commercially aware and customer-focused approach.
• The confidence to influence stakeholders and provide robust HR advice.
• A full, clean driving licence and the flexibility to travel to different business locations when required.
