Job Description:

Our client is a well established and growing professional services business based in the Sutton Coldfield area, supporting a diverse portfolio of clients across a wide range of sectors.

They are looking for an experienced Employee Relations Advisor to join their friendly and supportive team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the people side of HR and wants a varied role where no two days are quite the same.

Working with a portfolio of clients, you’ll provide practical, commercially focused HR  advice and support across a broad range of employee relations matters. You’ll build  strong relationships, manage your own caseload and support clients through everythingfrom day-to-day HR queries to more complex workplace situations.

You could currently be working as an Employee Relations Advisor, HR Advisor, HR Officer, People Advisor or HR Consultant and be looking for a role offering more  variety, responsibility and the opportunity to develop your career.

Employee Relations Advisor Responsibilities:

• Provide practical HR advice and guidance to clients across a wide range of employee relations matters.
• Manage your own varied caseload, supporting clients from initial enquiry  through to resolution.
• Advise on disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability and performance  matters.
• Support and guide managers through both formal and informal HR  processes.
• Conduct workplace investigations and prepare clear reports and  recommendations.
• Attend disciplinary and grievance hearings when required, providing  advice and guidance throughout the process.
• Prepare HR documentation including letters, contracts, policies,  procedures and meeting paperwork.
• Build strong relationships with clients, becoming a trusted point of contactfor their HR and employee relations queries.
• Keep accurate case notes and records, ensuring documentation is  completed correctly and on time.
• Occasionally visit client sites within the local area to provide face-to-face HR support.
• Work closely with colleagues to provide a responsive, professional and  commercially focused service.

Employee Relations Advisor Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience working within employee relations, HR advisory or a similar people-focused HR role.
• Good practical knowledge of employee relations, including disciplinary,  grievance, absence, capability and performance management.
• Confident advising, coaching and supporting managers through HR  processes.
• CIPD Level 3 or Level 5 qualified, or currently working towards a CIPD  qualification.
• Friendly, approachable and confident communication style, both over the  telephone and face-to-face.
• Comfortable managing your own workload and handling several cases at different stages.
• Strong written skills with the ability to produce clear and professional HR documentation.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• A full UK driving licence would be advantageous due to occasional local  client visits.
