Internal Sales Executive
£27,000 – £30,000 per annum

Permanent, full-time

Are you experienced in B2B product sales and looking for a role where you can do more than simply process orders?

We’re recruiting an Internal Sales Executive to join a small, established business supplying products into the manufacturing and engineering sector. You’ll have existing customers to look after and develop, but a key part of the role will also be identifying new opportunities, opening doors and bringing new customers on board.

This isn’t a heavily scripted sales environment with rigid call targets. They’re looking for someone with the drive to succeed who can use their own initiative, build genuine customer relationships and spot commercial opportunities.

What you’ll do

• Manage and develop existing customer accounts, looking for opportunities to increase spend and introduce additional products
  
  
• Generate new business by researching potential customers, making introductions and developing opportunities
  
  
• Look beyond the initial enquiry to understand what else the customer buys and where the business could add value
  
  
• Identify opportunities to grow existing relationships across other branches, sites or departments
  
  
• Prepare quotations, follow them up and work to convert opportunities into orders 
  
  
• Build strong relationships with customers, understanding their priorities around price, quality and delivery

What we’re looking for

• Previous B2B product sales experience, ideally within a manufacturing, engineering or technical environment. 
  
  
• Confident approaching new customers and opening doors for new business. 
  
  
• Experience building relationships and developing existing customer accounts. 
  
  
• Good commercial awareness with the ability to spot opportunities to increase spend. 
  
  
• Proactive, with plenty of initiative and a practical, common-sense approach. 
  
  
• Adaptable, driven and happy to get involved with a varied workload as part of a small team.
