Mechanical Design Engineer

My client is a well-established Design & Build MEP contractor delivering a range of commercial office fit-out projects across the Midlands.

They are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their design team and take responsibility for the mechanical design of projects from concept through to completion.

The Role

You will work closely with project managers, engineers and clients to develop practical, buildable mechanical designs for commercial office fit-out schemes.

Responsibilities will include:

• Producing mechanical designs for commercial office fit-out projects

• Taking projects from initial concept through to detailed design

• HVAC, heating, ventilation and domestic water services design

• Producing calculations, specifications and technical documentation

• Working with Revit and/or AutoCAD

• Coordinating designs with electrical, architectural and structural disciplines

• Liaising with project managers, clients, consultants and subcontractors

• Attending design meetings and site visits where required

• Supporting the project team throughout delivery

• Ensuring designs meet relevant regulations, standards and client requirements

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer within MEP / Building Services

• Experience working on commercial office fit-out projects

• Strong understanding of mechanical building services

• Experience within a Design & Build MEP
