Outbound Sales Executive – Apprenticeships

Location: Redditch, Worcestershire

Salary: £25,000 – £28,000 per annum

Job Type: Full-time

Working Pattern: Office-based initially, with hybrid working available following successful induction and probation

The Opportunity

Are you an experienced Outbound Sales Executive, Sales Executive or Lead Generation professional who thrives on making calls, building relationships and creating new opportunities?

We are working with a growing organisation within the apprenticeship and skills sector that is looking for a motivated Outbound Sales Executive to join its team.

You’ll spend much of your working day engaging with businesses by telephone, generating interest in apprenticeship programmes, identifying potential opportunities and qualifying leads for the Business Development team.

The Role

As an Outbound Sales Executive, you will play a key role in generating new business opportunities through proactive telephone sales activity.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Making high-volume outbound calls to prospective, existing and lapsed business clients.
• Introducing apprenticeship programmes to employers and creating interest in available training opportunities.
• Engaging with business contacts and decision-makers to understand their requirements and identify potential opportunities.
• Qualifying leads and providing Business Development Managers with accurate information for further follow-up.
• Following up leads generated through marketing campaigns and wider sales activity.
• Re-engaging previous clients to uncover new opportunities and support continued business growth.
• Maintaining accurate CRM records, including client conversations, follow-ups and sales opportunities.
• Achieving agreed individual call, sales and KPI targets while contributing to wider team objectives.
• Supporting ad-hoc outbound campaigns and maintaining knowledge of apprenticeship provision, funding and relevant sector developments.

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for a confident and resilient sales professional who is comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls and enjoys working towards targets.

You’ll ideally have:

• At least one year’s experience within outbound sales, telesales, B2B sales, lead generation or business development.
• Demonstrable experience making outbound telephone calls and generating new customer or sales opportunities.
• Experience working towards measurable sales, call or activity targets.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to build rapport quickly with business contacts.
• A positive, motivated and target-driven approach, with resilience when dealing with challenging conversations.
• Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage follow-ups effectively.
• Good IT skills and confidence using CRM systems, Microsoft Office and other business technology.
• Previous experience within apprenticeships, education, training or the wider skills sector would be advantageous.
• Level 2 English and Maths.
