Pay Rate: £13.69 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm

We are currently recruiting for a Recruitment & Retention Assistant to support the delivery of a professional, efficient, and compliant recruitment service. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised administrator with previous recruitment or compliance experience to join a fast-paced team and play a key role in supporting candidates and hiring managers throughout the recruitment journey.

As a Recruitment & Retention Assistant, you will:

• Support managers throughout the end-to-end recruitment process
• Provide guidance and support with the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
• Conduct pre-employment checks, including:
  • DBS checks
  • Right to Work verification
  • Home Office checks
  • Other recruitment compliance activities
• Process successful candidate applications and maintain regular communication throughout recruitment campaigns
• Prepare and issue offer letters, contracts, and employment-related documentation
• Ensure recruitment records and employee files are accurate and fully up to date
• Maintain and update spreadsheets and recruitment systems with a high level of accuracy
• Support payroll-related recruitment administration and ensure deadlines are met
• Deliver a high standard of customer service to both internal and external applicants
• Ensure recruitment activities comply with policies, procedures, and employment legislation
• Assist with service improvements and contribute ideas to enhance recruitment processes
• Work collaboratively as part of the wider People Team

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience within recruitment, HR administration, onboarding, or compliance
• Experience conducting pre-employment checks, including Right to Work and DBS checks
• Strong administrative and organisational skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience using recruitment databases, HR systems, or Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with managers and candidates
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel
• The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workloads effectively
• A proactive and flexible approach to work
