I am working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in the Temple Balsall area of Solihull. The school is committed to providing a supportive, inclusive learning environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential. Staff work collaboratively to ensure pupils receive the care, encouragement and tailored support they need to thrive. The school places a strong focus on safeguarding, wellbeing and developing positive relationships with children and families.

Your new role

I am seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, communication and interaction needs and learning difficulties. This role may involve working on a 1:1 basis or supporting small groups throughout the school day.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide tailored support to pupils with special educational needs.
• Assist with learning activities both inside and outside the classroom.
• Support pupils with communication, social and emotional development.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies.
• Foster a positive, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
• Provide personal care and support with toileting needs where required.
• Promote pupil independence, confidence and engagement in learning.

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience working with children with SEN in a school, nursery, childcare or similar setting.
• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.
• Relevant childcare, early years or education qualifications will also be considered.
• Confidence supporting pupils with additional needs and behavioural challenges.
• A caring, patient and resilient approach.
• Comfortable providing personal care and toileting support when required.
• A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.
