Support Worker / Carer

Location: Tamworth

Salary: £13.51 per hour

Hours: Part time – 21 hours per week

Contract: Permanent following successful completion of an initial trial period

Standon Gardens Extra Care is looking for a caring and reliable Support Worker / Carer to join our team.

You'll support people living in their own apartments, helping them remain independent while providing the care, companionship and practical support they need.

You'll work at one location throughout your shift, meaning no travelling between clients.

What you'll be doing

You'll provide person-centred care and support, including:

• Personal care and support with day-to-day living
• Meal preparation, cleaning and household tasks
• Supporting with medication in line with care plans and training
• Supporting people living with Alzheimer's and dementia
• Encouraging independence and choice
• Building positive relationships with the people we support and their families
• Maintaining accurate care records and documentation

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who is caring, reliable, trustworthy and a good communicator, with a genuine desire to support people to live as independently as possible.

You’ll need to be flexible to work a range of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, weekends and bank holidays. Shifts can start as early as 7:00am or finish as late as 10:00pm.

Previous care experience is preferred, but full training and support will be provided.
