Job Description:

Maintenance Engineer (Electrical / Mechanical / Multi-Skilled)
Location: Solihull, West Midlands
Average Rate: £43 per hour
Salary equivalent: £61k + 12 weeks extra holiday
Shift Pattern: 4 Shift Rotation (1 full week off every 3 weeks)
Contract: 12-Month Temp-to-Perm
IR35 Status: Inside IR35

The Role
We are seeking experienced Electrical, Mechanical, and Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers to support a leading automotive manufacturing environment. You'll be responsible for maintaining automated production equipment, conveyors, and associated plant machinery to maximise reliability, minimise downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and TPM activities.
- Respond to breakdowns and carry out effective fault diagnosis and repair.
- Identify root causes of failures and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Support equipment reliability, performance, and continuous improvement projects.
- Drive downtime reduction through Kaizen and waste elimination activities.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.

Key Performance Indicators

- Equipment reliability and availability.
- PPM / TPM completion targets.
- Job completion targets.
- Reduction in breakdowns and downtime.

Maintenance experience within manufacturing, automation, conveyors, or similar fast-paced environments.
- Strong electrical and/or mechanical fault-finding skills.
- Knowledge of electrical control and mechanical systems.
- Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent engineering qualification.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.

Desirable

- Automotive manufacturing experience.
- Knowledge of CMMS systems.
- Continuous improvement or Kaizen experience.

Engineers with backgrounds in Automotive, FMCG, Automated Warehousing, Packaging, Conveyor Systems, or High-Speed Manufacturing environments are encouraged to apply.
